Graduate Visa (Subclass 485)


This visa allows you to live, work, or study in Australia after completing your studies. It’s a popular option for graduates who want to gain practical work experience and build their future in Australia.


Post-Vocational Education Work

  • Stay up to 18 months. Hong Kong and British National Overseas passport holders may stay for 5 years.

  • Be 35 years of age or under when you apply (unless exemption applied)

  • Have held a Student visa in the last 6 months

  • Provide evidence of the required level of English in the 12 months immediately before the day you apply for your visa

  • Must hold a qualification relevant to your nominated​​ occupation on​ the ​​skilled occupation list​​​​

  • ​​​​​​​​​​​​Meet the Temporary Graduate visa study requirement with an associate degree, diploma or trade qualification only​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

  • Have applied for a skills assessment in your nominated occupation on the skilled occupation list

  • Need a recent degree in​ CRICOS-registered course​

  • Meet the​​ Temporary Graduate visa study requirement with a degree level qualification or higher
