Overview Of The Subclass 482 Visa

The 482 Skills in Demand visa enables employers to sponsor skilled workers from overseas for temporary employment, lasting up to four years depending on the specific occupation. This visa has three distinct streams:

  • Short-term stream: For occupations on the Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL), generally valid for up to two years.

  • Medium-term stream: For occupations on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL), allowing for a stay of up to four years, with a potential pathway to permanent residency.
